Gunfire Exchanged Outside Of Pittsburgh Grocery
Employees of a Pittsburgh grocery exchanged gunfire while pursuing a stolen tip jar, police said.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Gunfire was exchanged Saturday after a teen got into an altercation with an employee at the Las Palmas store on Broadway Avenue in Beechview.
The teen stole the tip jar from the store and fled the scene. Store workers chased after the suspect, who fired at them in the area of Hampshire and Rutherford avenues. The employees fired back as the suspect ran off.
No one was injured.

Police set up a perimeter and one of the K9 units eventually located the suspect in the 1600 block of Belasco Avenue. A second K9 located a firearm in the area.
The suspect is a juvenile and was taken by medics to the hospital to be cleared medically before being questioned by detectives.
