Health Department Closes Pittsburgh-Area Coffee Shop
The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered the shuttering of a Pittsburgh-area coffee and tea shop.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has shut down The Hungry Cupcake coffee and tea shop in West Deer.
The shop's health permit expired nearly two years ago in May 2022. A health department inspection report stated that the shop appears to have operated continuously since that time.
According to the inspection report, the owner was contacted numerous times by phone, mail, and email. The owner has failed to pay the outstanding permit fees and was operating without a valid food permit.
