Health Department Orders Pittsburgh Bar Closure

The Allegheny County Health Department has shut down a neighborhood tavern for several health code violations.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered the closure of the O'Fela African Lounge on Brownsville Road in Carrick for several health code violations.

According to the health department website, there was evidence of rats in the lounge.

Additionally, the bar was operating without a valid health permit and operating carbon monoxide equipment without proper ventilation. The space also was found to have improper wastewater disposal and plumbing issues.
