PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered a popular Oakland restaurant to close. Beta Bites, a Middle Eastern eatery on South Bouqet S, was shuttered for various health violations.

A recent inspection found evidence of mouse infestation, a lack of hot water, no functioning hand washing sink, food requiring safety temperature control at room temperature, lack of date marking food for safe use and no certified food protection manager.

The restaurant also was found to be operating a health permit.
