Heinz Launching New Pickle Ketchup Condiment
The company hopes its latest condiment will prove to be a "big dill" for consumers.

PITTSBURGH, PA — What took them so long?
Heinz ketchup and pickles have been side-by-side on hot dogs and burgers seemingly since the dawn of time. Now Heinz, based jointly in Pittsburgh and Chicago, is adding a new pickle-flavored ketchup to its growing roster of flavored condiments.
“Increased desire for tasty, yet unexpected condiments has served as our innovation north star for the last several years,” Katie Peterson, director of Heinz innovation at the Kraft Heinz company, said in a release. “The current pickle craze in America mirrors the irrational love Heinz fans have for the brand, so it only made sense for our newest ketchup to blend these two beloved tastes together.”

The new condiment seemingly will be particularly popular in Pittsburgh, which annually hosts Kraft Heinz Picklesburgh. The award-winning event includes international dishes and handcrafted foods from local chefs featuring house-cured pickled vegetables, a competitive pickle juice drinking contest and the famed giant inflatable pickle that rises over the festival.
Pickle ketchup will begin appearing on grocery store shelves early in 2024.
