Here's How To See 'Hamilton' In Pittsburgh For $10

The wildly popular musical "Hamilton" returns to Pittsburgh this month. Here's how to see it at a bargain basement price.

PITTSBURGH, PA — "Hamilton" is returning to the Benedum Center this month, and a limited amount of tickets will be available for each performance for $10. A digital lottery will occur to purchase the discounted tickets.

The lottery opened Friday morning and will close at 12 p.m. on Feb. 28 for tickets for the Feb. 22-27 performances. Subsequent digital lotteries will begin each Friday and close the following Thursday for the upcoming week's performance.

"Hamilton" will run at the Benedum from Feb. 22 through March 13. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, the performance tells the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton.

Here's how the lottery works:

  • Use the official app for "Hamilton" available for all iOS and Android devices in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store (http://hamiltonmusical.com/app).
  • The lottery will open at 10 a.m. every Friday and will close for entry at 12 p.m. the next Thursday prior to the following week’s performances.
  • Winner and non-winner notifications will be sent between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. every Thursday for the upcoming week’s performances via email and mobile push notification. Winners will have two hours to claim and pay for their ticket(s).
  • No purchase or payment necessary to enter or participate.
  • Each winning entrant may purchase up to two tickets.
  • Only one entry per person. Repeat entries and disposable email addresses will be discarded.
  • Lottery tickets may be picked up at will call beginning 2 hours prior to the performance with a valid photo ID.
  • Lottery tickets will be void if resold.
