Howard Hanna Insurance Services Earns Make More Happen™ Award
Supporters Can Help Unlock a $10,000 Donation by Voting for Their Agency Giving Story

Liberty Mutual Insurance has awarded Howard Hanna Insurance Services a 2026 Make More Happen™ Award for its dedication to ensuring no child is denied critical medical care due to financial hardship, via the Howard Hanna Children’s Free Care Fund. The award includes a $5,000 donation, which can be doubled to $10,000 through online community support.
Howard Hanna Insurance Services’ story is featured on the official Make More Happen microsite, https://www.agentgiving.com/howard-hanna-insurance-services/, where supporters can vote to help unlock the full $10,000 donation. If the story receives at least 750 combined votes and comments, the $5,000 award will be doubled. The additional funding would help offset the cost of emergency surgeries, ICU stays, diagnostic MRIs, and post-operative rehabilitation for uninsured or underinsured children, ensuring families can access lifesaving care when they need it most.
At Howard Hanna Insurance Services, giving back is a core part of the company’s culture. Over the past three decades, the company has supported hundreds of educational, health, and humanitarian programs across its markets. What began as a series of employee potluck gatherings—fondly known as “Choo Choo Chow Chow” events—evolved into the Howard Hanna Children’s Free Care Fund. Today, the company works alongside a network of regional children’s hospitals and pediatric programs to ensure that financial barriers never stand between a child and necessary medical treatment.

“We’re proud that our team’s passion turns into real care for children in our communities,” says Danielle Shearer, Vice President at Howard Hanna Insurance Services. “Every hour volunteered and every dollar raised helps remove a barrier between a child and the treatment they need.”
Howard Hanna employees support the fund year-round through hands-on volunteering and creative fundraising initiatives. From organizing Children’s Free Care charity events to staffing ticket booths and silent auctions, the team consistently contributes time, talent, and resources. Most recently, the agency launched an online 50/50 raffle for National Superhero Day, raising more than $1,000. In 2025, their efforts reached a new milestone, with more than $19,000 raised in a single year.
