Hurricane Florence: Updated Rain Projections For Pittsburgh
Find out here how much precipitation the massive hurricane bearing down on the Carolinas likely will bring to Pittsburgh.

PITTSBURGH, PA - As Hurricane Florence prepared to make landfall, the National Weather Service updated the anticipated rainfall totals for the massive storm. It appears Pittsburgh will get off easy.
Unlike the Tropical Storm Gordon remnants that dumped more than seven inches of rain on the area last weekend, it appears the trek of Florence’s remains will not require Allegheny County to issue a disaster emergency declaration. The current models updated Thursday by weather service have Florence’s rains impacting the area Monday and Tuesday and bringing one or two inches of rain to the region.
Portions of central Pennsylvania could see as much as four inches of rain, according to the latest protections. Precipitation estimates increase dramatically the furter southeast you get from the city.

Life-threatening, catastrophic flash flooding and prolonged significant river flooding are likely over portions of the Carolinas and the southern-central Appalachians into the middle of next week, as #Florence is expected to slow as it moves inland.
Here is an updated, forecast precipitation accumulation map from the Weather Prediction Center as a result of Hurricane Florence. The remnants of Florence are expected to track NE into the Ohio Valley early next week (Mon/Tues) resulting in increased rain chances for our area. pic.twitter.com/4vt7jpDURC
