PITTSBURGH, PA — Legendary Pittsburgh singer Donnie Iris said on Monday that he has beaten the cancer that has kept him from performing for most of the year. The announcement was posted on the Donnie Iris and the Cruisers Facebook page.

"We’re excited to tell you that Donnie is doing great! No more chemo," the post stated. "Doctors do not see any more cancer. Such great news! He feels like singing!"

Iris and the band also announced an upcoming "Luck of the Iris" concert on March 16 at the UPMC Events Center on the Robert Morris campus in Moon, where Iris held his 80th birthday party in March. Tickets for the show go on sale Wednesday.
