Jets 24, Steelers 20: Reaction To An Ugly Loss
After an embarassing defeat by an underdog opponent, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has a major decision to make at quarterback.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Steelers suffered a disappointing home loss the the underdog New York Jets on Sunday. Here's what sports writers across the nation thought about the game:
- Rich Cimini, ESPN: "Pickett or Mitch Trubisky? Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has a decision to make, one that will chart the course for the season. One factor to consider: The next four games are tough, as the Steelers face the Bills, Buccaneers, Dolphins and Eagles. At 1-3, the Steelers can't afford too many more losses."
- Michael Baca, NFL.Com: "Kenny Pickett's debut fizzles. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin quelled the jeers of a Pittsburgh crowd to start the second half by benching Mitchell Trubisky, but life with a rookie quarterback at the helm was realized by the end."
- Bryan DeArdo, CBS SportsBryan DeArdo, CBS SportsBryan DeArdo, CBS Sports: "Turnovers plagued the Steelers, who threw four interceptions with three of those coming from Kenny Pickett, though he did initially give the team a spark after entering the game in the second half. Pickett's second interception set up the Jets' game-winning score with under a minute left."
- Peter King, NBC Sports: "The fact that he yanked starting quarterback Mitchell Trubisky less than three-and-a-half games into his Steeler trial is another big deal. Now it’s Kenny Pickett’s turn to try to justify the faith the Steelers placed in him by drafting him 20th last April. Talk about a trial by fire: Pittsburgh faces Buffalo, Tampa Bay, Miami and Philadelphia in the next four weeks. Yikes."
