KDKA-TV's Ralph Iannotti Calls It A Career
A ubiquitous presence at the station since the Reagan administration, the veteran reporter is retiring.

PITTSBURGH, PA - After nearly four decades at KDKA-TV, veteran reporter Ralph Iannotti is retiring. His last day on the air is Friday, where he will report the final one of the approxiamtely 11,000 stories he estimates he covered for the station.
Iannotti discussed his long career and impending departure Thursday on KDKA's "Pittsburgh Toady Live."
"I don't know where the time went," he said. "I came down here from Albany, New York, in 1982 signed for three years. Fast forward 37 years and I'm ready to retire."

According to his biography on the station website, Iannotti started his broadcast career in 1968 as a radio talk show host with WAFS-AM in Amsterdam, New York. From 1967 to 1976, he worked as an announcer and then news director at radio station WPTR in Albany.
In 1974, Iannotti joined The New York Daily News as a special Albany correspondent. Two years later, he began working at WTEN-TV in Albany, New York as a weekend anchor, special projects coordinator, and general assignment/features reporter. While he was at WTEN-TV, he received an award for producing the best local radio commercial.

Iannotti has been the recipient of distinguished service award from the 2,000 member Pennsylvania Homicide Investigators Association in recognition of his work with Western Pennsylvania Police Agencies.
The South Hills resident attended Emerson College in Boston. His hobbies include bike riding, weightlifting and jogging.
