Kennywood Expanding Holiday Lights Festival

The West Mifflin amusement park is adding an extra week and expanding hours this year for the popular holiday event.

PITTSBURGH, PA —Kennywood’s electric bill is going to be incredibly expensive soon.

The West Mifflin amusement park announced Monday that its annual Holiday Lights attraction will have extended days and hours this year.

The event, which features more than two million twinkling lights, the largest Christmas tree in Pennsylvania and many of the park's most popular rides in action, will begin on Nov. 18. That's one weekend earlier than usual.

Additionally, the park will welcome patrons two hours earlier on most Holiday Lights days, with 3 p.m. openings.

This year, Holiday Lights will have an all-new Santa experience in Thomas Town. Additionally, there will be a Christmas scavenger hunt, seasonal photo opportunities and a create-your-own Christmas bear activity.

The Holiday Lights food offerings will include hot cobbler, freshly made doughnuts, seasonal beer and much more.
