Kennywood Getting PA's Tallest Christmas Tree

PITTSBURGH, PA - Kennywood's Holiday Lights are back for a ninth season and this year will feature a 100-foot Christmas tree, the state's tallest, a massive model train display and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" playing in the amusement park's 4D theater.

Holiday Lights begins Nov. 22 and continues every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. through Dec. 22 and nightly Dec. 26-30. Rides that will be operating include the Kangaroo, Merry Go Round and Noah's Ark, plus Kiddieland and Thomas Town.

There also will be a nightly reading of "'Twas The Night Before Christmas" featuring a different Pittsburgh celebrity each evening and local groups performing holiday music.

Kennywood is partnering with 412 Food Rescue to host a personal care item drive for the food rescue program's recipients. Visitors who bring donations of items such as toothpaste, soap or diapers during Holiday Lights' first three weekends will receive a coupon good for $6 off admission for up to four people.
