Kennywood Pierogi Bash, Oktoberfest Top Pittsburgh Weekend Events

There's also a play that goes awry one and of your last chances to see the 2018 Pirates.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Steelers aren’t playing until Monday night this week, so you have plenty of opportunities to get out of the game room and do something fun this weekend. And what could be more fun than enjoying a plateful of pierogies at Kennywood?

The Pittsburgh Pierogi Festival returns to the West Mifflin amusement park on Sept. 23 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will feature pierogies from more than two dozen chefs and eateries. You also can paint your own pierogi with help from Paint Monkey, enjoy live music and drink beer if you’re over 21.

Although Kennywood technically is closed for the season, some classic rides will be open for this special event. They include the Thunderbolt, Jack Rabbit, Racer, Turtle, Noah’s Ark and of course the Merry-Go-Round.
