Kennywood Provides Steel Curtain, Steelers Country Updates
The West Mifflin amusement park's major new attractions are getting closer to debuting.

PITTSBURGH, PA - While opening dates have not yet been determined, Kennywood is getting closer to completing a significant addition to the West Mifflin amusement park : Steelers Country, anchored by the Steel Curtain roller coaster.
Kennywood released a video and several still photos on social media showing how construction is progressing on the new attractions, which are being built on the site of the old Log Jammer ride and part of the pavilion area.
Tough it won't open until sometime this summer, the Steel Curtain already tops the list of top 10 extreme coasters for 2019 by Blooloop, an online resource for professionals in the theme parks industry. But the coaster will be far from the only draw of Steelers Country, which will include an entry tunnel similar to the one at Heinz Field, interactive skill games, a new restaurant area, a Steelers fountain allowing visitors to cool off on hot summer days, a dining area and a large scoreboard.
