Kennywood Revs Up For Spooky Phantom Fall Fest

WEST MIFFLIN, PA – Kennywood is promising more scares, more effects and more horror at this year's Phantom Fall Fest, which will run for six weekends beginning Sept. 22. The festival will feature six different haunts, for scare zones and 13 rides in the dark.

A twisted haunt inspired by the classic story of Alice in Wonderland makes its debut this Halloween season. mAlice in Wonderland Unleashed invites unsuspecting visitors into a labyrinth of dark and twisted memories of Alice’s time in Wonderland.

“Phantom Fall Fest offers the most unique and robust Halloween experience in this region with improved haunts, classic rides and the most robust food offering to date,” assistant general manager, Rick Spicuzza. “mAlice in Wonderland Unleashed has been completely reimagined this year, packed with new frights and thrills around every corner.”

Dogtober Fest will take the stage at Kennywood on Sep23. Pups and their parents are invited to the park from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Doggos are encouraged to show off their Halloween costumes and join the park’s costume parade, enjoy photo opportunities and more. Those interested in attending will receive free entry into the event with a donation of one five-pound bag of dog food. All donations will go directly to Animal Friends, a full-service companion animal welfare organization in Pittsburgh.

Phantom Fall Fest opens with family-friendly activities during the day, then at 6 p.m., the fear kicks into gear, all included for free with park admission.

Plus, new for 2023, Halloween enthusiasts can enjoy the RIP Experience, this one-of-a-kind offering includes a park tour, a behind-the-scenes look at the Phantom Fall Fest makeup room and the VooDoo Bayou Haunt, a premium Speedy Pass and more.

Culinary delights can be found throughout the festival, including the park’s all-new Open Body Buffet located in the End Zone Café. The buffet will feature charcuterie, fire-roasted chicken wings, whiskey-glazed ribs, turkey legs and more.

Fall classics will be available for purchase throughout the park including apple tarts, pumpkin cheesecake and hot cider. Plus, for guests aged 21 and above, unique boozy beverages return, featuring Witch’s Brew margaritas, rum cider, spirited gelatin syringes and boozy “blood” bags.

The days are for play every Saturday and Sunday through Oct. Families looking to get into the fall spirit during the daytime can enjoy the all-new Kenny’s Trick-or-Treat Scavenger Hunt. Included with park admission, this park-wide scavenger hunt offers a fun way for kids 10 and under to enjoy the Halloween season at the park starting Sept. 30.

Thirty rides will be open during the festival.

Phantom Fall Fest will scare all who dare to enter every Friday from 6 p.m. – 11 p.m., Saturdays from 12 p.m. – 11 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. – 10 p.m. from Sept. 22 through Oct. 29.
