Kennywood, Sandcastle To Close After Labor Day

The West Mifflin amusement park and West Homestead water park will shut down for the season following Labor Day.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Kennywood and Sandcastle will finish their seasons on Labor Day this year, the amusement park and affiliated water park announced on Thursday.

Because of a shortened operating season due to the coronavirus outbreak, all 2020 season passes will be extended to include the 2021 season, with the exception of the Summer Saver Season Pass.

New offerings that were delayed by the pandemic remain in the works to look forward to in 2021. That includes the Steelers Experience attractions at Kennywood and the Bombs Away water slide at Sandcastle.

To help make up for the earlier end to the season, Kennywood will add two additional operating days on Aug. 28 and Sep. 4.

Kennywood and Sandcastle continue to offer heavily discounted single-day admission (as much as 50 percent off regular price in most cases) for the remainder of the summer.
