Kennywood, Sandcastle Reopening With Big Changes
Find out here what you can expect at the amusement park and water park in 2020.

PITTSBURGH, PA — It won't be business as usual at Kennywood and Sandcastle. But the West Mifflin amusement park and its affiliated West Homestead water park both announced they will open next month after delaying 2020 openings because of the coronavirus outbreak.
Phased openings will occur, with season passholder previews July 7-10 and then the general public on July 11.
Here's how things will be different at the two facilities:

- Face coverings will be required for all personnel and guests.
- All personnel and guests will have their temperatures taken before entering.
- Capacity will be limited to encourage social distancing.
- Hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout the parks.Sanitizing teams will work throughout the park, particularly focused on high-touch areas.
- Enhanced cleanliness and safety education will be provided to staff.
Ticketing procedures also will be different this year. Here's what you can expect.:
- Guests will need to register for the date they wish to visit in advance, in addition to their regularly purchased ticket or season pass.
The RSVP system will be available beginning Wednesday, June 17. Dates will be released in phases, and not all at once.

- If the date you wish to visit is not listed in our online calendar, the facilities may have already reached their capacity limit for that date, in which case you will need to choose another day. If you are looking for a date later in the summer, please check back again as more dates will open as the summer progresses.
- Any person with a temperature of 100.4°F or higher, or displaying other symptoms of COVID-19, will be denied entry.
- Facial coverings are also required for all entrants, except children under three and those with a valid medical condition. Facial coverings are not allowed on any attraction or pool and are not necessary while waiting in line or walking between attractions.
