Kennywood's Holiday Lights Gets National Accolades

The amusement park's holiday lights even is recognized during its final days of the 2018 holiday season.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Kennywood’s Holiday Lights display has been named one of the nation’s best theme park holiday events. In a nationwide poll conducted of 10Best.com editors and expert contributors by USA Today, Holiday Lights finished seventh.

Featuring nearly two million lights around the West Mifflin amusement park, Pennsylvania’s tallest Christmas tree (100 feet), and the new Thomas Town Holiday Lights, Kennywood was one of only two theme parks in Pennsylvania to be included on the list. Kennywood’s sister park in Lancaster, Dutch Wonderland, was the other.

“It’s a great honor to see Kennywood recognized as one of the nation’s best theme parks to visit during the holidays,” Kennywood General Manager Jerome Gibas said in a statement. “We’re thankful to all those who took the time to vote, and to our team members who have been working since September to make Holiday Lights sparkle.”
