Kennywood's Phantom's Revenge: National Coaster Poll Results
See how the iconic coaster fared in a USA Today reader poll.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Kennywood's famed Phantom's Revenge was named the nation’s third-best roller coaster in this year’s USA Today Reader Choice Awards.
The Phantom was in the lead during the early stages of voting, but ultimately lost out to Superman the Ride, a 5,400-foot steel hypercoaster at Six Flags New England. That coaster boasts a 221-foot drop and speeds of up to 77 mph hour along a twisty red track.
Finishing second was Twisted Colossus, a hybrid coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain that features a 360-degree zero-g roll, a 116-foot drop at 80 degrees and many hills.

As its many loyalists know, there are plenty of thrills as well on the Phantom, whose biggest drop is its second one - a whopping 230 feet at a speed of 85 mph. The Phantom also passes terrifyingly close to the Thunderbolt, Kennywood's classic wooden coaster celebrating its 50th birthday this year, and there are plenty of banked curves along its 3,365 feet of track.
