Kennywood's Phantom's Revenge: Voters Choose Coaster's New Color
Fans of the nationally recognized coaster have selected its new paint color for 2022.

WEST MIFFLIN, PA — Fans of Kennywood's Phantom's Revenge have spoken. Voting to select the beloved coaster's new color for 2022 has ended and there will be no lingering dispute over which color won.
The amusement park announced Friday that nearly 10,000 voters in an online poll made their choice "overwhelmingly clear." Phantom's Revenge will be painted petrifying purple following the hue's landslide victory over terrifying teal.
The Thunderbolt also will get a fresh coat of paint, but expect the classic wooden coaster to maintain its traditional white shade.

In July, The Phantom's Revenge finished second in USA Today's national poll on America's Best Roller Coaster. The landmark attraction is Pennsylvania's fastest coaster and has an initial drop of 160 feet.
"The 3,365-foot track of Phantom's Revenge in Kennywood brings visitors frighteningly close to another of the park's coasters, Thunderbolt," USA Today wrote in its review of the coaster. "A
hair-raising highlight is the second drop – a 230-foot thriller at 85 miles per hour."
