Steelers Lose Cornerback Cam Sutton To Detroit Lions
The Steelers are losing a significant player as the NFL's free agent signing period begins.

PITTSBURGH, PA — As the NFL's annual free agent frenzy begins, the Steelers are losing a solid defensive starter to another team.
According to multiple reports, the Detroit Lions are signing cornerback Cam Sutton to a three-year, $33 million deal with $22.5 million guaranteed. Due to NFL free agency rules, Sutton can't be officially signed until Wednesday.
A third-round pick out of Tennessee in 2017, Sutton played in 84 games with the Steelers that included 39 starts. He registered 164 tackles, 38 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, eight interceptions, eight tackles for loss, three quarterback hits, two sacks and a fumble recovery.

Sutton's departure leaves a glaring hole in the Steelers secondary that will have to be addressed either via free agency or in next month's NFL Draft. Cornerback James Pierre also is a free agency.
