KQV License Sold To Pittsburgh-Area Broadcasting Company
The station went dark at the end of December after nearly a century on the air.

PITTSBURGH, PA - One month after one of Pittsburgh’s most storied radio stations went dark after nearly a century on the air, KQV-AM’s license and equipment has been sold, Radio Insight reported Thursday.
Broadcast Communications Inc. which owns a half-dozen radio stations in southwestern Pennsylvania, paid former owner Calvary Communications for those assets but did not buy KQV’s tower in Ross.
BCI did not announce when or if it will resurrect the station, and a Patch call to BCI president Robert Stevens Thursday was not immediately returned.

KQV ownership announced in December that the family-operated, all news station would go dark as of Jan. 1 because it operation had become financially unsustainable. KQV had been on the air in various formats since 1919.
The KQV website has remained operational and runs world, national and state Associated Press stories.
