Labor Day In Pittsburgh 2021: What's Open, Closed

Are libraries open? What about liquor stores? Answers can be found here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Federal, state and city offices will be closed for Labor Day on Sept. 6 and refuse collection in most communities will be delayed by one day through next week.

Also closed are city senior centers, recreation centers and the Mellon Park Tennis Center.

Post offices will be closed and there will be no regular mail delivery.

Many Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores will be open beginning at their normal Monday opening hours through 5 p.m. Click here for individual store hours.

All Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh locations will be closed.

Port Authority of Allegheny County will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Pittsburgh Grab’n’Go meals for seniors will be unavailable Monday and resume Sept. 8.

City spray parks and outdoor pools will be open. Monday is the final day of the 2021 outdoor pool season.

Allegheny County pools at North Park, South Park, Boyce Park and Settlers Cabin will close for the season on Sunday. On Labor Day, the pools will be the site of the fourth annual “Pooches in the Pool” event from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in which dogs will be permitted to swim in the pools.

The North Park and South Park golf courses will be open from dawn to dusk, and the Deer Lakes Park and Round Hill Park spray parks will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
