Longtime Post-Gazette Sports Photographer Peter Diana Dies

Diana captured some of Pittsburgh's most thrilling sports moments over the years.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Peter Diana, a Post-Gazette photographer who visually chronicled some of the city's most compelling sports moments over the past 30 years, died Thursday at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Oakland.

Mr. Diana, of Ohio Township, was 64.

Mr. Diana photographed three of the Steelers’ six Super Bowl victories and three of the Penguins’ five Stanley Cup victories for the Pittsburgh Press and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, according to the Post-Gazette. He retired from the newspaper last year.

Friends will be received Monday between 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at theJobe Funeral Home, 445 Beatty Rd., Monroeville.
