Light Up Night, Holiday Lights Among 5 Fun Pgh. Weekend Events

PITTSBURGH, PA —As Thanksgiving is becoming an increasingly large light growing in the tunnel of year-end holidays, here's what is going on in Pittsburgh this weekend while you wait for your 40-pound turkey to thaw:
- Light Up Night, Nov. 20, 12:30 p.m.-9 p.m., various Downtown locations.
After a year's absence due to the pandemic, Light Up Night returns on a new day of the week (Saturday) and a new sponsor (Highmark). But the 60th anniversary of this Pittsburgh holiday tradition will feature the traditional illumination of the city skyline and the usual array of
activities such as tree lightings, live music, craft foods, shopping and fireworks.

- Holiday Lights, Nov. 19 (passholders only), 20-21, 5 p.m.-10 p.m., Kennywood.
Along with the 100-foot-tall tree, the tallest in Pennsylvania, visitors can enjoy light shows around the lagoon, eat with St. Nick at Dinner with Santa and enjoy live entertainment. Weather permitting, the Gran Prix and Jack Rabbit will join the Holiday Lights ride lineup, marking
the first time a Kennywood coaster will operate in winter.
- Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, Nov. 18, 7:30 p.m.; Nov. 19, 8 p.m., Nov. 20, 2 p.m., 8 p.m.; Nov. 21, 1 p.m., 6:30 p.m., Benedum Center.
You undoubtedly know many of the '70s disco diva's hits, including "I Feel Love," "Love to Love You Baby," "Bad Girls," and "Hot Stuff." But you might not know her rise from gospel choir internationally famous recording star. See this show and all will be revealed.

- Horror Realm, Nov. 19, 5 p.m.-10 p.m.; Nov. 20, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Nov. 21, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Crowne Plaza Pittsburgh South, Bethel Park.
Yes, it's almost Thanksgiving but some folks are still stuck in Halloween mode. This convention features appearances by actors and actresses who have appeared in horror movies and vendors selling movies and DVDs, apparel, toys and collectibles, movie memorabilia and more.
- Miniature Railroad & Village, Nov. 18-21, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Carnegie Science Center.
This year's featured miniature at this historic and Pittsburgh-centric display features a model of Gus & Yiayia’s ice ball cart and honors the real-life family business that has operated on the North Shore since 1934.
