Loaded Gun Found Outside Pittsburgh-Area High School

PITTSBURGH, PA — A loaded gun was discovered Thursday morning outside of Uniontown Area High School in Fayette County.

District officials said the weapon was found in a bag outside of the high school. The gun never was in the building, Superintendent Daniel Bosnic said in a letter to families.

The bag's owner has been identified, but the district provided no additional information.

"Please rest assured that school safety is the number one priority in the Uniontown Area School District, we will continue to work diligently to insure the well-being of the students and staff of our schools," Bosnic stated.
