Longtime KDKA-AM News Anchor Dies

He was with the station for nearly two decades.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Former KDKA-AM news anchor Bob Kopler, who worked for several Pittsburgh stations for more than 40 years, died Tuesday, the station announced. Mr. Kopler, of Shaler, was 81.

Mr. Kopler retired from KDKA in 2007 after 19 years.

"No one brought more passion to the newsroom," KDKA morning show host Larry Richert said in a statement on the station's website.

Services and interment will be private at the family's request.
