Longtime Pittsburgh Cultural District Restaurant Closing

The elegant eatery has occupied the prominent corner of Sixth and Penn since 2005.

PITTSBURGH, PA - A mainstay of Cultural District dining for more than a decade is closing next month. Six Penn, part of the Eat’n Park Hospitality Group, will shut its doors Feb. 17, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

Described in a 2016 article in The Wall Street Journal as “a fancy Downtown restaurant,” Six Penn has occupied the prominent corner of Penn Avenue and Sixth Street across from Heinz Hall since 2005.

Six Penn was Eat’n Park’s first restaurant concept outside of the company’s chain of regional family restaurants. The hospitality group since has opened Hello Bistro locations Downtown, on the South Side and in Oakland, McCandless, Pine and Upper St. Clair, and two Porch restaurants in Oakland and Upper St. Clair.
