Longtime Pittsburgh Radio Morning Show Co-Host Retiring

PITTSBURGH, PA — An era in local radio ends Friday when 93.7 The Fan morning show co-host Jim Colony steps away from his full-time job at the station. Colony still will be heard on the sports talk station doing occasional fill-in work and contributing online.

Colony, who has worked at several Pittsburgh radio stations nearly continuously since the early 1990s, has been with 93.7 since its inception more than a decade ago.

“I have been pretty lucky since I stumbled into radio nearly 43 years ago, like when The Fan came along just months after I'd been let go across town,” Colony said in a release posted on the station's website.“It really was 'right place-right time' and it's lasted for 12 years - an eternity in this business."

Colony worked as a sports anchor at the former ESPN Radio 1250 in Pittsburgh from 2000 to 2009. He also worked at the former WTAE-AM from 1991-1997 when it was the flagship station for the Steelers and University of Pittsburgh football and basketball.

Colony also has worked at stations in Boston, South Carolina, Vermont and his native New Hampshire.

Colin Dunlap and Chris Mack will continue as The Fan's morning co-hosts.
