Lyft Drivers Benefit From Pittsburghers' Largess
Pittsburgh residents are among the service's best tippers.

PITTSBURGH, PA - On-demand transportation service Lyft has confirmed what many around town already knew anecdotally: Pittsburghers can be extremely generous.
In a study of driver tipping, Lyft found that Pittsburgh residents have one of the nation’s highest tip amounts. One person even tipped his or her Lyft driver $275 last year.
“Today and every day, we’re grateful for the generosity of every member of the Lyft community,” Josh Huber, Pittsburgh market manager for Lyft, said in a statement.

Lyft announced on Monday that its drivers in the United States and Ontario, Canada, have earned more than half a billion dollars in tips, with more than half of that amount was given just in 2017. Lyft made it easier to tip last June by offering in-app tipping.
