Mad Mex Restaurant Chain Expanding

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Mad Mex empire continues to expand. What started out as a single location in Oakland near the University of Pittsburgh campus a quarter of a century ago now has restaurants in Philadelphia, Erie and State College.
Pittsburgh’s ninth Mad Mex opens Dec. 2 in the Waterworks mall near Aspinwall in the former La Capella space, the restaurant announced on its website. It will offer the same menu, trippy art and Mexican artifacts found in the chain’s other locations.
Mad Mex is owned by the Big Burrito Restaurant Group, which also operates Casbah, Eleven, Kaya, Soba and Umi locally.
