2 Die In Fiery Head-On Pittsburgh Interstate Crash
The crash occurred early Thursday along Interstate 79 near Pittsburgh.
OHIO TOWNSHIP, PA — Two people died in a fiery head-on crash on Interstate 79 early Thursday that occurred in a construction zone between the Mt. Nebo Road and Emsworth-Sewickley exits at around 12:20 a.m.
Pennsylvania State Police said that three vehicles were involved. A tractor-trailer traveling southbound crossed the median and struck a vehicle head-on. The truck's trailer struck a second vehicle headed northbound.
The vehicles involved in the head-on collision caught fire. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

An unspecified number of other people involved in the incident were taken to area hospitals. Their conditions are unknown.
The crash caused the closure of both lanes of I-79 for hours.
