Man Arrested In Pittsburgh-Area Child Sex Trafficking Case
The 55-year-old salesman is being held in a New Jersey jail pending extradition to Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA - A New Jersey man has been arrested in on human trafficking charges involving a minor in a case that was investigated by police in North Strabane, Washington County.
Kevin J. Newell, 55, of Maywood, New Jersey, was arrested at his residence after being charged by Pennsylvania authorities with trafficking in individuals, trafficking in minors, unlawful sexual contact with a minor, knowingly or permitting the depiction on a computer of a child sex act and criminal use of a communication facility. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail pending extradition proceedings to Pennsylvania, according to a release from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
The arrest was a result of a months-long human trafficking and child sexual exploitation investigation initiated by the Homeland Security Investigations Pittsburgh field office and the North Strabane Police Department and also conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Maywood Police Department.
