Massive Water Main Break Closes Monongahela Incline
Water shot high into the air after the water line ruptured..

PITTSBURGH, PA - A water main break on Mt. Washington’s Grandview Avenue has forced the closure of the Monongahela Incline until further notice.
The incline was shut down Monday because of an initial break in the line. Workers repaired that break, but another break occurred overnight, sending water shooting into the air toward an apartment building across the street from the incline.
Port Authority of Allegheny County is running a shuttle service between the upper and lower stations until the incline reopens.
