Metallica Adds Pittsburgh To WorldWired Tour

The metal giants haven't played here in more than a decade.

PITTSBURGH PA - Prepare to thrash, Pittsburgh. Metallica is coming to town for the first time in 14 years and just the second time in the past two decades.

The metal kings announced 34 additional dates for the North American leg of its WorldWired tour Monday and one of them is at PPG Paints Arena on Oct. 14. Best known for songs such as “Enter Sandman,” “Master of Puppets,” and “Nothing Else Matters,” Metallica last played Pittsburgh at the old Civic Arena in 2004.

Pre-sale tickets for Metallica’s Pittsburgh show, as well as other cities in the North American lineup are available Tuesday, Feb. 27 for fan club members and Citi card members after 11 a.m. Spotify will have pre-sale tickets beginning Feb. 28.

Public ticket sales will begin March 2 at 10 a.m.
