Miss Saigon, Monster Truck Jam Top Pittsburgh Weekend Events

PITTSBURGH, PA - The acclaimed new production of the Broadway classic “Miss Saigon” is being performed in Pittsburgh this weekend. It features a cast of 42 performing the soaring score that includes "The Heat is On in Saigon," "The Movie in my Mind," "Last Night of the World" and "American Dream."
Since its London premiere in 1989, “Miss Saigon” has become one of the most successful musicals in history. It’s been performed in 32 countries, over 350 cities, in 15 different languages, has won over 70 awards including 2 Olivier Awards, 3 Tony Awards and 4 Drama Desk Awards and been seen by over 36 million people worldwide.
You can catch it at the Benedum Center Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m.; Feb. 7 at 8 p.m.; Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

- Monster Jam Triple Threat Series, Feb. 7, 7 p.m.; Feb. 8, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Feb. 9, 1 p.m., PPG Paints Arena.
Prepare to experience a mix of action in six different motorsports competitions. Watch riders tear up the dirt in Monster Jam trucks, speedsters and ATVs. They will compete head-to-head for points in challenging racing and freestyle events testing their agility, speed and versatility.

In America's largest and most realistic Dinosaur event, you can walk through the Cretaceous period, the Jurassic Period and the Triassic period. More than 80 life-size animatronic dinosaurs will be on hand and there will be dinosaur-themed rides, inflatable mazes, huge slides and the multi-track Dino Bungee Pull.

The Pittsburgh Public Theater’s production of this hilariously harrowing musical about a people-eating plant became an early hit for the team who wrote “The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” and “Beauty and the Beast” for Disney. The score features rock, rhythm and blues and even 60s girl group music.
