Missing Pittsburgh Restaurant Worker, Refugee Found Dead
The body of a missing Sudanese refugee and beloved city restaurant employee was located on Friday, police said.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A Pittsburgh restaurant worker and Sudanese refugee who had been missing for more than a week was found dead on Friday morning.
The body of Mohamed Elhadi Mohamed, 24, was found outside the city, according to the Pittsburgh Police Department.
No other details were released. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office, police said.

Earlier this week, police asked for the public's help in locating Mohamed, who was last seen May 22 at around 11 p.m. in the 300 block of Sampsonia Street in the Central North Side.
Mohamed worked at the 40 North restaurant on West North Avenue on the North Side.

A restaurant Facebook post this week stated, ""Mohammed is an amazing person who has been working with us since June 2023, when he moved to Pittsburgh from Sudan. He started as a dishwasher and has worked his way up to cook.
"Neither we nor his family have heard from him. We're all worried sick here."
