More Parkway East Traffic Headaches On Tap This Week

PITTSBURGH, PA - If at all possible, avoid the Parkway East during evening hours this week.
The highway will be reduced to a single lane in each direction from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night through Thursday between the Greenfield and Fort Pitt bridges.

Work on Thursday will not begin in the outbound direction until two hours after the end of the Steelers game.

Additionally, the following ramps will close from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night:

• Boulevard of the Allies on-ramp to westbound (inbound) I-376 toward Downtown/Fort Pitt Bridge.
• Westbound (inbound) I-376 off-ramp to the Boulevard of the Allies/Liberty Bridge (Exit 72B).
• Westbound (inbound) I-376 off-ramp to Second Avenue (Exit 71B).

All ramp traffic will be detoured as follows:

Boulevard of the Allies on-ramp to westbound (inbound) I-376 toward Downtown/Fort Pitt Bridge:

• At the closed ramp, stay left on the Boulevard of the Allies and take the ramp to I-579 toward Liberty Bridge/Crosstown Boulevard.
• Take the ramp to North I-579/I-279 toward the Veterans Bridge.
• Take the ramp toward Convention Center/7th Avenue.
• Turn left onto Grant Street
• From Grant Street, take the ramp onto westbound I-376 toward Fort Pitt Bridge/Airport.
• End detour.

Westbound (inbound) I-376 off-ramp to the Boulevard of the Allies/Liberty Bridge:

• Follow westbound I-376 past the closed ramp.
• Take the Grant Street (Exit 71A) off-ramp.
• Follow Grant Street to Seventh Avenue.
• Turn right onto Seventh Avenue.
• Motorists can choose the ramp to the Liberty Bridge or northbound I-579.
• End detour.

Westbound (inbound) I-376 off-ramp to Second Avenue:

• Follow westbound I-376 past the closed ramp.
• Take the Grant Street (Exit 71A) off-ramp.
• Follow Grant Street to Second Avenue.
• End detour.

Also, the Boulevard of the Allies ramp to eastbound (outbound) I-376 will close from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Wednesday. The detour:

• Continue on the Boulevard of the Allies past the closed ramp.
• Turn right onto Bates Street.
• From Bates Street turn left onto the ramp to eastbound I-376 toward Monroeville.
• End detour.
