More Wild Weather On The Way For Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA — If you enjoyed last weekend's extremely strong winds that knocked out power to 50,000 Duquesne Light customers last weekend, you'll like what the National Weather Service is forecasting for this weekend.

First the good news: Thursday will a sunny, tranquil day in Western Pennsylvania with high temperatures reaching 50.

Friday will start off with showers, then a strong low pressure system will bring the threat of strong to severe thunderstorms Friday night into Saturday. On Saturday, wind gusts of 50 mph to 60 mph are possible.

A high wind watch already has been issued for portions of Westmoreland, Indiana and Fayette counties. Wind gusts there Saturday could top 60 mph.
