Most Pittsburgh Parking Authority Downtown Rates Jump

It now costs more to park during the day at most Pittsburgh Parking Authority facilities.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Pittsburgh Parking Authority has increased daily and lease rates. The higher rates went into effect Friday.

Weekday parking in eight of the authority's 10 Downtown facilities has risen $1 in the following categories: one hour of less, two hours or less, four hours or less and up to 24 hours. Lease increases range from $5 to $28 a month depending on the facility.

The higher daily rates are in effect at garages at First Avenue, Fort Duquesne and Sixth, Piatt Place, Grant Street Transportation Center, Mellon Square, Smithfield, Third Avenue and Wood-Allies. Daily rates remain unchanged at the Mon Wharf and Second Avenue.

The night and weekend rates at all authority facilities remain unchanged.

The authority board approved the new rates in September.
