Most Pittsburgh Public Pools Close For The Season
The city has ceased operations at a majority of CitiParks pools for the year.
PITTSBURGH, PA — As many lifeguards head back to school, CitiParks on Monday reduced the number of open city pools and adjust the operating hours at the pools still in operation.
Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O'Connor said in a statement that city officials were proud to open 17 pools this summer - including the long-shuttered Homewood Pool - while also making improvements to the pool experience with new chairs and loungers at all of its outdoor facilities.
“As the outdoor season winds down, we’re keeping six pools open through Labor Day," O'Connor said. "With aquatic programming also returning to Oliver Bath House in September, Pittsburghers will have opportunities to stay active in the water well into the fall.”
