Mother Charged In Pittsburgh-Area Baby's Cocaine Overdose Death
A Pittsburgh-area woman is facing charges after her 3-month-old daughter died from cocaine toxicity.
ALIQUIPPA, PA — A mother in Beaver County was charged Thursday in connection with her baby daughter's death from a cocaine overdose last year.
According to court documents, first responders were summoned to a home on Boundary Street on Oct. 30 for reports of a baby not breathing.
When they arrived, they found Rachel Dlubak attempting to revive her 3-month-old daughter, Taniyah Harvey. Dlubak told police she took a brief nap while her daughter slept in a bassinet. When Dlubak awoke about 10 minutes after falling asleep, she told police that the girl was blue.

The baby was taken to the hospital and died several days later.
A drug test was administered to Dlubak before her daughter's death.The results came back positive for cocaine metabolites and marijuana.

The Beaver County Coroner's Office ruled last month that the girl died from cocaine toxicity.
Dlubak was charged Thursday with involuntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of children.
