Mother Engaged In Prostitution With Kids In Apartment, Police Say

PITTSBURGH, PA - An Ingram couple is facing charges after police said the woman engaged in prostitution while three young children were in or near her Ingram apartment.

Brittany Dawn Patrick, 26, is facing charges of prostitution and endangering the welfare of children. A warrant has been issued for Lukas Traut on charges of criminal conspiracy and endangering the welfare of children, KDKA-TV reported.

Traut is the father of Patrick’s 18-month-old son. Two other children live in the apartment but aren’t related to Patrick or Traut but lived in the apartment.

Police began investigating after receiving reports of suspicious activity at the Noll Avenue apartment building on January. They subsequently discovered online ads in which Patrick asked to meet with “older generous gentlemen.”

The three children were in the apartment when Patrick was arrested.

KDKA reported that Patrick told police she was engaging in prostitution to support a heroin habit.
