Multi-State Police Pursuit Ends Near Pittsburgh; Shots Fired At Cops

The chase ended at around 5 a.m. Friday, officials said.

FINDLAY TOWNSHIP, PA — A police pursuit that began in Ohio ended early Friday in Findlay with the arrest of at least one suspect. The chase began in Jefferson County, OH and spanned approximately 30 miles and ended at Boggs and Potato Garden Roads.

At around 4:20 a.m., Ohio State troopers found a vehicle parked in a rest area on Route 213 occupied by Tyler Karhut, 27, who was wanted in Jefferson County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers attempted to make contact with him and he failed to comply, starting a pursuit on Route 7. According to the report, shots were fired at officers during the pursuit.

Ohio troopers stopped the pursuit at the Pennsylvania border, but shortly thereafter McDonald Police spotted the vehicle and Karhut was taken into custodry.

No one was hurt during the chase or when shots were fired.

Karhut was wanted on warrants for aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, and aggravated menacing.
