Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett struck Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph in the head with his own helmet Thursday.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Overshadowing the Steelers 21-7 loss to the Cleveland Browns Thursday was an ugly incident in which Browns defensive end Myles Garrett tore off Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph's helmet and hit him in the head with it.
Garrett apologized after the game, admitting he "lost his cool" with just eight seconds remaining in the game. Rudolph called the play "bush league."

Here what others said about Garrett's attack:
Kevin Seifert, ESPN: "Myles Garrett committed the closest thing we've seen to an on-field crime in the modern era of pro football. Only one response will suffice. The NFL must issue the longest suspension for a single on-field act in its history, ending Garrett's 2019 season with six games remaining on the Browns' schedule and making clear to the world that what happened at FirstEnergy Stadium is one of the worst moments on the field in its history."

Younger & Associates: (Rudolph's agent): "There are many risks an NFL QB assumes with every snap taken on the field. Being hit on your uncovered head by a helmet being swung by a 275 DE is not one of them. Tonight could have had a catastrophic ending."
Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield: "It's inexcusable...rivalry or not, we can't do that."
Jeff Kerr, CBS Sports: "The fight between the Steelers and Browns was the culmination of a
physical night between both teams. The Steelers were on the receiving end of violent helmet-to-helmet hits throughout the course of the game. The first one occurred when JuJu Smith-Schuster was hit in the helmet by Browns cornerback Greedy Williams and safety Morgan Burnett after the initial helmet-to-helmet contact with Williams. Smith-Schuster left the game with a concussion."
Bro i can’t even believe that just happen.

That’s assault at the least... 6 months in jail on the street.. now add the weapon and that’s at least a year right?!

Myles Garrett should not play football for the rest of this season, and probably longer. An act not seen in decades requires discipline not seen in decades, particularly in these times, when the NFL is trying to clean up the game.

In all my life of football that might have been the craziest thing I have seen on a football field! They about to suspend Myles Garrett for 30 years! People getting stomped out, that was a hood fight! Hate to see that in our game that’s not what pro football is about!

Btw.....anyone who’s saying that what Myles Garrett did isn’t assault is playing themselves! I love the physical nature of the game like the next person but he could’ve killed that man with that helmet
