Nazi Delusions Led Pittsburgh-Area Man To Stab Mother: Police
A man is accused of stabbing his mother - because he believed her to be a Nazi war criminal.
MOUNT PLEASANT TOWNSHIP, PA — A man allegedly stabbed his elderly mother because he thought she was a Nazi war criminal, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Kort Noel Eckman, 45, allegedly stabbed his mother, Rose Eckman, 10-20 times before police arrived at their home Tuesday in response to reports of a domestic disturbance. State police provided lifesaving aid to the 78-year-old woman, who was taken to Forbes Hospital in Monoreville and is listed in stable condition.
According to court documents, Eckman got a knife from the kitchen, went into his mom's room and stabbed her 10 to 20 times because he thought she was a Nazi war criminal.

"He was having some sort of delusion at the time," Trooper Cliff Greenfield told WTAE-TV. "We are looking into that."
Eckman was charged with felony counts of criminal attempted homicide and aggravated assault, misdemeanor counts of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person and a summary count of harassment.

He is being housed in the Westmoreland County Jail pending an Oct. 18 preliminary hearing.
