Netflix Filming Horror Series 'Archive 81' In Pittsburgh

'Archive 81' is shooting in several different Pittsburgh locations.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A horror series is being filmed in Pittsburgh and surprisingly doesn't revolve around the Steelers most recent late-season collapse. Netflix is producing "Archive 81," which is based on a podcast of the same name that now is in its third season.

The program stars Mamoudou Athie and Dina Shihab.

What's the show about? According to a Deadline article, "When archivist Dan Turner (Athie) takes a mysterious job restoring a collection of damaged videotapes from 1994, he finds himself reconstructing the work of documentary filmmaker Melody Pendras (Shihabi) and her investigation into a dangerous cult. As Dan is drawn into Melody’s story, he becomes convinced he can save her from the terrifying end she met 25 years ago."
