PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh International Airport's new Landside Terminal project reached a major milestone Thursday when 120 people signed what will be the final beam to be put into place on the massive building. Construction of the airport roof began last month; the beam will be installed this summer.

Airport leaders, elected officials and industry partners attended the topping out ceremony for the $1.4 billion terminal endeavor, which also includes a new roadway system and a parking garage with 3,300 spaces - more than twice as many as the existing Landside Terminal garage.

"The new terminal will go further for our community and our passengers to create an innovative and welcoming experience to everyone who walks through here," said Christina Cassotis, Allegheny County CEO.
