A new shuttle system has been proposed for Pittsburgh International Airport. Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA —Public input is being sought on a proposed Pittsburgh International Airport autonomous vehicle shuttle project.
The project would provide automated passenger transportation along a dedicated guideway connecting landside parking facilities, landside amenities and the airport's new landside terminal.
PennDOT, in conjunction with the Allegheny County Airport Authority, has prepared a detailed project analysis addressing the anticipated location of the project; type of transportation facility and service; estimated costs; anticipated contract term and potential social, economic, and environmental impacts.

The AV shuttle system is envisioned to form an east-west dedicated corridor connecting long‑term public parking to the new terminal via a sequence of stations.
The alignment may begin at the long term parking Lot and progress past the Hyatt Hotel area, interface with the parking garage, and ultimately end at the terminal station.

These stations are expected to serve known demand centers in the landside network and form a direct and predictable route into the terminal.
The corridor could incorporate the following infrastructure elements, intentionally mapped to existing and future landside
assets identified in the airport authority's master plan update.
• A new bridge providing elevated access into the terminal area;
• Dedicated fixed guideway track designed for magnet‑guided AV movement; and/or
- Parking‑area and terminal stations.
The airport authority would be responsible for implementing the proposed shuttle system.
Public comment on the project will be accepted from March 15 through April 14.
